LIPO BATTERIES
Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries are
now widely used in R/C planes and R/C Helicopters because of their relative
light weight and high storage capacity. For the same storage capacity (C), a
LiPo battery pack will weight approximately half that of a NiCad battery pack.
If maintained well LiPo batteries should be capable of delivering 500
charge/discharge cycles. All our battery packs are supplied with balance leads
so that the pack can be maintained by charge balancing on a regular basis, say
every tenth cycle. A balancing charge cycle aligns each cell to the same state,
eliminating the possibility of one cell being overstressed during a charge or
discharge cycle.
We
have two categories of LiPo batteries,
Power
Plus – ECONOMY
Cells rated at 10C
maximum continuous discharge current (Code BP)
Power
Plus – SAMURAI
Cells rated at 15C
to 20C
maximum continuous discharge current (Code BS)
All
packs are fitted with Balance Leads for charging.
For
example,
